Due to the dramatic increase in Covid 19 cases we have been asked to cancel all Sunday services with immediate effect, until further notice. There will therefore be no service tomorrow morning. Please note that the church will still open for individual private prayer on Monday afternoons, 12-4pm and Friday mornings, 9am to 1pm.Please be assured that we will resume normal Sunday services as soon as we are permitted to do so. Many thanks. Geraldine.
Derbyshire County and Derby City Councils are consulting on the next stage in the preparation of the Minerals Local Plan.
Following changes to national policy, which require local plans to cover a 15 year period post adoption, the Councils have extended the Plan period to 2036. This has led to the need to plan for an additional six years’ worth of sand and gravel.
Sand and gravel operators in the County were asked if they wished to promote additional sites for working in line with the extended plan period. Three further sites were put forward. These sites, along with five other sites previously suggested by mineral operators, have been assessed to determine the best way of supplying sand and gravel over the Plan period.
As a result of the assessments, the sites which have been proposed for working in the Minerals Local Plan are:
Swarkestone North, Swarkestone South, Willington, Elvaston and Foston.
The Councils are now inviting comments on the site assessment process. The Consultation consists of four documents:
• The main consultation document;
• The site assessment methodology;
• The site assessments; and
• The deliverability schedule.
All comments should be received by Sunday 13th December 2020.
If you do not have access to the internet, you can request paper copies of the documents by telephoning Planning Services on 01629 539809 and posting your comments to:
The Development Plans Team, Planning Services, Economy, Transport and Environment, Derbyshire County Council, County Hall, Matlock, DE4 3AG.
Comments received at this stage of consultation will be used to inform the next stage in the preparation of the Plan i.e. the Proposed Draft Plan, which will cover all minerals in the plan area, and which is anticipated to be ready for consultation in Spring 2021.
